South Florida hospitals welcome New Year’s newborns – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

SOURCES OF CORAL, FLA. (WSVN) – As many Southern Floridians rang the bell in 2022 with a party night, some mothers were in the hospital giving birth to adorable newborn babies.

At Broward Health Coral Springs, a couple welcomed Azuri Wallace into the world early Saturday morning.

Weighing 6 pounds and 11 ounces, Azuri was one of the first babies born in the area. She was born at 12:01 am

The baby’s father, Philemon Wallace, said he and the newborn’s mother couldn’t be happier.

“It’s a great feeling to know that she’s actually a New Years baby for Broward County,” he said. “It really is a special time, and we are happy to be a part of it.”

Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital also welcomed another baby born a minute after midnight in 2022. The boy weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces.

Photos shared by the hospital showed the newborn’s mother with her mother, Natalie. He should be appointed shortly.

In Miami-Dade County, Jackson Memorial Women’s Hospital registered its first newborn in the New Year at 12:02 am.

Milan Enrique Figueredo is already on his stomach. He is the fourth child of parents Deysi Juarez and Manuel Figueredo.

Finally, Alaia Gomez Diazat was the Palmetto General Hospital’s first baby in 2022. The girl arrived with full hair and weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces.
