Have a nice day, neighbors! It’s me again, Debora Whitehead, your host for Three Village Daily.

First of all, the weather forecast for the day:

Periods of rain. High: 47, low: 40.

Here are the best stories from Three Village today:

  1. The Three Village Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Brookhaven co-hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for DJ’s Clam Shack at Stony Brook on December 15. The new location at 1007 Route 25A is the company’s fourth location on Long Island. Owner Paul Riggio has received congratulatory certificates from the chamber, city and county.
  2. Tyler Stephenson-Moore was there to help the Seawolf with another victory. The redshirt-sophomore stood up and pinned Daryl Banks III’s shot to the glass and Stony Brook’s men’s basketball schedule improved to 7-4 with a 64-63 electric win over Saint Peter’s on December 18 at the Island Federal Arena. (TBRNews)
  3. Police offer cash reward to track down woman who stole packages from porch in Stony Brook. Detectives released a photo of the porch hacker. Police said the woman stole boxes from a house in Stony Brook Road on Sunday evening at around 8 p.m. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police. (News 12 Westchester)
  4. St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, which is used for children’s occupational therapy, received a special donation of 45 teddy bears for the patient children. For much of the COVID-19 era, staff members had to refuse physical donations, but this time they made an exception. The hospital administration wanted to see these bears work. (Newspaper)

  • Stony Brook Athletics: “Before the holidays, our sea dogs got together for our Bear and Sun event! Our student-athletes wrote notes and collected 75 bears and blankets which were donated to the Sunshine Alternative Education and Prevention Center! (Facebook)
