The queen mother of the traditional area of Nkawie-Abofrem in the Atwima Mponua district of the Ashanti region has commissioned a new medical center to improve the quality of health care for the population.
The new facility, according to Nana Akosua Nkrumah Adasah, is to help reduce birth complications and other health issues within the cocoa farming community and beyond.
The establishment named “Y3 Enya Woso HFP Medical Center” has a capacity of 30 beds.
Speaking to the media, Nana Akosua Nkrumah Adasah explained that some women in the community have lost their lives due to various health issues.
“I built this health facility because of the women. In fact, people were dying especially if the women started giving birth, before they got a car and went to Bibiani, they passed out and I couldn’t take it anymore, and that’s why I had it. did, “she said.
She called on the government to immediately send health workers to the facility to start serving the community.
The Queen Mother also urged members of the community to keep the facility in its current state in order to meet their needs for a long time.
For his part, Atwima Mponua District Health Director Dr Jojo Kwabena expressed his gratitude to the Queen Mother and pledged that the health service will provide equipment to ensure the start of the process. ‘establishment.
In addition, Atwima Mponua District Chief Executive, Isaac Kofi Marfo, pledged 200 bags of cement to complete the current nurses’ quarters to accommodate health workers.
According to him, the District Common Fund is not sufficient to undertake large projects, hence the need for individuals and organizations to help the community.
