TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – An Amber Alert was issued Thursday night for an infant whose parents are from Coffee City.

Ryder Williams was taken by his non-custodial parents after he tested positive for narcotics and custody was awarded to CPS. After an alert was issued, the mother, by then in Hunt County, decided to surrender the child to law enforcement in that county. According to police, the child has now been surrendered to Child Protective Services, who will have him checked out at a medical facility.

The father, Ricky Williams, has been located in Tyler.

Charges are pending on the parents until they get bloodwork results.

CPS had been awarded custody of child, but the parents fled with him, police say. CPS was granted temporary custody on July 11 in County Court of Law #1 in Henderson County.

The Police Chief of Coffee City, JohnJay Portillo, wanted to thank Smith County Sheriff’s Office and Henderson County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the search for the infant and the couple.
