Residents in Mississauga and Brampton are encouraged to make note of the most recently recalled products by Health Canada. A wood stove tent, skin care, and a murphy bed are just some of the items included.
Fisher-Price Infant-to-Toddler and Newborn-to-Toddler Rockers
Risk: Health Canada warns consumers that Fisher-Price Infant-to-Toddler and Newborn-to-Toddler Rockers should not be used for sleep. This product is technically not being recalled, but Health Canada is reminding consumers of the appropriate use of the item.
The incline of the product could cause suffocation while sleeping. A baby should sleep on their back on a firm surface intended for sleep.
There have been at least 13 deaths reported in the US between 2009 and 2021 as a result of babies falling asleep and remaining asleep in the rocker.
What you should do: If a baby falls asleep in this product, move them to a safe surface intended for sleeping, such as a crib, cradle, or bassinet. Do not leave the baby unsupervised or unrestrained while in the rocker.
Vichy LiftActiv Peptide-C Ampoules
Risk: Vichy LiftActiv Peptide-C Ampoules, 1.8ml are recalled due to a laceration hazard. The product is packaged in a sterile single-use glass ampoule.
Over time and under varying storage conditions, the glass of these ampoules can become brittle, which does not ensure their safe opening and can present a risk of laceration when opening the ampoules.
As of June 27, 2022, the company has received 23 reports of incidents in Canada. The company reported that 752,110 units of the affected product were sold in Canada from March 2020 to May 2022.

Cyme-Tech Low Profile Murphy Bed
Risk: Cyme-Tech Low Profile Murphy Bed is recalled due to tip-over and entrapment hazards. This wall bed is queen or double, the doors can be installed horizontally or vertically and are sold in 5 colors: White, Rustic Grey, Espresso, Cinnamon and Tuxedo.
This recall involves Low Profile Murphy wall bed Part numbers S214, S215, S234 and S235. Failure to properly assemble and/or attach the bed to the wall may result in the bed becoming detached from the wall and falling, posing a tip-over and entrapment hazard that could result in serious injury.
As of July 4, 2022 the company has received 7 reports of incident with injuries in Canada. The company reported that 10,611 units of the affected product were sold in Canada from October 2012 to June 2022.
What you should do: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Low Profile Murphy Bed Part numbers S214, S215, S234 and S235 until visual inspection has been conducted to ensure proper installation. Contact Cyme-Tech for more information.
Cabela’s Outfitter and Big Horn wood stove tents
Risk: Cabela’s Outfitter and Big Horn tents are recalled due to a smoke inhalation hazard. The tents are designed for the optional use of a wood stove inside. The stove pipe exits the tent through the stove jack ring which provides a seal between the stove pipe and the tent.
The tent’s stove jack ring can deteriorate when exposed to high temperatures from contact with a stove pipe and create smoke inside the tent, posing a risk of injury from smoke inhalation.
As of July 14, 2022 Westfield Outdoor has received 3 reports of the stove jack ring deteriorating due to heat and creating smoke in Canada, and 1 report of smoke inhalation and frostbite related to discontinuing the use of a wood stove while camping.
What you should do: Immediately stop using a wood stove inside the tents and contact Westfield Outdoor for a free replacement stove jack ring. Consumers can remove the old stove jack ring from the tent and install the replacement ring by following the instructions provided with the replacement ring. Westfield Outdoor is contacting all known customers directly.
